// About

We need to acknowledge the practical role of art in the lives of children and adults alike, because artistic activity is a necessary part of human development and a pedagogical essential. Although we may be aware of the art product — the song, the picture, the play — we are less aware of the process that creates it. This process has less to do with inspiration and innate talent than it does with the human drive to understand, to seek solutions and to think creatively.

The arts educate the imagination, tutor our senses, enlarge our capacity to solve problems and lead us to the inner truths that guide our lives. The arts lift our logical thinking — the traditional focus of modern education — into reaches of possibility, invention and genius.
